Desvendando a África

Cultural & Ancestral Journeys

Desvendando a África — “Unveiling Africa” — is Marli Owadokun's travel brand: journeys of reconnection between Brazil and Africa, at once historical, cultural and ancestral. Each itinerary is curated personally by Marli, who spent decades living between the two continents, so that the group does not simply visit a country but crosses into an inheritance. The journeys are small, slow and accompanied — built from encounters, places and living memory.

The experience

An immersion that reconnects Brazil and Benin — with particular attention to the Afro-Brazilian traditions alive in Rio Grande do Sul.

The itinerary moves through the places, houses, terreiros and festivals where that inheritance is still practised on both sides of the Atlantic, accompanied closely by Marli and the local operator.

This is not a conventional tourist trip. The programme may shift slightly according to local logistics and the festival calendar — always keeping the essence of the experience intact.

Nigeria — Osun-Osogbo

Cultural and ancestral journey · Osun-Osogbo festival · Previously held

The journey

A journey into the heart of the Osun-Osogbo festival in Nigeria — one of the great annual gatherings of Yoruba tradition, held along the Osun river inside the sacred grove recognised as a World Heritage site.

On past editions the group followed the processions, the public rites and the daily life of Yoruba towns with Marli as guide — she lived in Nigeria for decades and knows the families, the places and the codes of respect a visit like this asks for.
